What foods would you like to make?
We have many family favorites and a few new things to try. I will start with the newest addiction.
Burgers from Pwe’s Ramblings! These burgers are amazing! I tried them once on my own and didn’t come close to comparing to Rachels tasty burgers! I think it was maybe to much water. I will keep giving it a go until I get it right and then will post pics of the creation.
Fall favorites are around the corner
With fall coming on I look forward to lots of vegetable stews. Homemade soups and of course fill ya up foods like enchiladas, lasagna and meatloaf.

With working on the farm this year I have access to LOTS of potatoes of various types. So we will be having baked and mashed quite a bit until I run out.
One of our favorite soups is from my husbands German roots, Knephla soup. Best served the next day. On a cold November day the best thing on the table is a hot bowl of Knephla! If you have never had it you are in for an amazing treat! You start with peeling and cutting up some good russet potatoes, a delicious sweet onion, salt and pepper. Bring that to a rolling boil and add a fresh flour water egg dough into the boiling water by cutting with scissors. Be careful. The water jumping out of that pot is scalding! Of course there are several variations of the soup but my favorite is just the simple version. You can find many recipes for this spectacular soup online and I encourage you do look some up and try them. Fill ya up to your toes!
A fall dessert to WOW the senses
I hope to make a homemade Green Tomato Pie this fall too. It was one of my dads favorites at the end of the gardening season. I know most people love “fried Green tomatoes”. Don’t wrinkle up your nose just yet. You take your favorite basic apple pie recipe and used VERY large green tomatoes. Make sure there is not the slightest bit of pink in the middle. They will produce to much juice and make the pie watery. I usually salt or sugar mine slightly and put them in a colander to drain a hour or two. Adding a bit of flour or cornstarch to the mix to thicken the pie filling before baking helps too. If you do find the pie to be a bit watery, drain off the liquid into a pan. Add some sugar and create a thick reduction. Serve the pie with vanilla ice cream and pour the sauce over the top! BOOM! An explosion of flavors for the fall palate. *yup, I’m salivating*

Here is a link to a video I made so many years ago (14 yrs ago) when I first started on YouTube. YouTube video >>> Green Tomato Pie
Please share with us what your favorite fall foods are? What is the one recipe you just can’t wait to make?
