Yesterday I was talking with one of the regular guys that we see daily about how things were going out on the frac site. He told me when you see the coils come in you know we are close to done with the frac. About 30 minutes later I see a semi truck with a very large load coming in. When it was closer I realized it was the coil he had been talking about.
One by one the Sand Trucks started leaving. As each one passed they all waved a final goodbye for this site. Some threw kisses and some threw hugs but each was special. Most of them, there was no communication except for a smile or a thumbs up in passing. We had all been together at our gate for a full month. They became like a small family for me.
The equipment is now on its way out. Big engines for pumps, lots of pipe, huge tanks. platforms and ladders. I’m sure there will be so much more as I write this.
Our normal days were 270-340 trucks and crew members in a 24 hour period. Today was not the same. I miss seeing those smiles. These new trucks are nice guys! One even called me over to the truck to ask me who turned on the Air Conditioner? We had a good laugh but yes it is that cold today with the wind.
So I will see how long this stage lasts and enjoy every minute of it.
