Lightning Strikes!

Friday night February 2nd into Saturday morning Texas was full of storms! We had high winds and several inches of rain in only a few hours. Brian was checking in a truck when the loudest ever clap of thunder hit and a very bright flash of light, followed by bright sparks everywhere. It stunned him for a few seconds.

I woke to the clap of thunder and thought maybe the truck was struck because it was so close and so loud. I tried to call him and no answer, so I jumped out of bed and grabbed for my clothes. As I was putting them on the door opened and it was Brian asking if we were ok.

I told him I had tried to call and he said that he was checking in a truck when it happened. He said the light was very intense and thought it had come from across the dirt road, behind the trees.

Yesterday we were informed that a power pole was struck, down the road. We took a 200 yard walk to the pole and the photos are what we found.
