Our Favorite Places

Do you have a favorite place you have visited? Where is it?

That is a hard one. We have so many places we have been. We will list them separately first and then I will give our ultimate favorite place individually. (please see photos to follow)

Deanna:

One of my favorite places is Bumping Lake in Washington state. The lake is beautiful with many places to hike and get away from the daily grind of life. A few years ago there was a big fire in the area and the camp site we used for over 30 years is now not able to be used. I will always cherish the memories we made there raising our children. The love they have for the land and wild life were built at Bumping lake.

Another place I fell in love with was the Uintah Mountains in Ashley National Forest. They are in Utah. Growing up my dad worked on a project there. We spent a lot of time fishing and hunting in the area. It was so beautiful! I don’t think I’ve ever seen deer that big. I loved the smell of the fall. Falling leaves of every color! Great memories with my family and friends.

Venezuela. I’m very saddened that now in todays world I will not be able to go and show my husband or children how beautiful it was there. So many friendships were made. Long lasting friendships! The landscape was so lush and green. The rains that cleared the air daily. Even the hot sticky sweaty nights were something of good childhood memories.

Our property in Arizona. When we purchased our piece of land it was sight unseen. We have friends in the area who went to take some photos and check it out for us. When we made it out there the photos and descriptions we had were wonderful but still couldn’t show and describe its beauty! Junipers, cactuses, wild life, and most of all FREEDOM!

Brian:

The mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Its always been home to me. I look forward to going back to do more hiking and camping. Sitting by the lakes and enjoying nature. I want to go back and hike along the ocean shores of Washington and Oregon.

Our Property in Arizona. I want to get started on building our homestead. The land is far enough out to enjoy the quiet and view nature in the desert.

Where ever we are but the most favorite will be our property. We look forward to getting it started soon! Digging in and getting dirty! Raising our own food and animals. Cool desert nights and warming your bones days. Yup, our favorite place will be our homestead.
