What makes a good leader?

To me to be a good leader is to have clear communication. Without that things can turn to chaos rapidly.

Any job we have ever worked, when communication was clear the work flow was smooth. When management started promising what they could not deliver it was chaos and rumors.

Another way to show great leadership is to involve your team. Let them know when they do good as well as when things aren’t going so well. Words of encouragement are a positive team building. Again this is communication.

Getting down in the trenches and not just sitting at a desk or in an office somewhere. One job recently it was common to see the president or the founder of the company working on the line in the warehouse. They had lunches in the common break rooms too. Not for show but because that is who they are. Again… Great Communication with team members.

There are many things that make a great leader. My thought is that it really starts with good communication.

Not all leaders are political or on the job. My 2 favorite leaders are Jesus Christ and my Dad who taught me so much about leadership with empathy and strength.
