Waking up after we spent a cold night boondocking at a rest stop near Las Cruces, NM, (28° outside, 42° in the rv) we drove to Fort Stockton,TX. Where we chose to call it a night. A nice little park on the North side of I-10. Stockton RV park. As of the date of this post is $45 night with a Good Sam discount. The ladies in the office were great! They have a small Cafe on site. It was decent but the cook I think was having a bad night. Brian saw his face and words when the waitress took our order. We think it was about having to make more gravy. Oh well. Food in the belly! Warmer night and a bottle of wine. I’m a happy girl! Princess got to read a lot of pee-mails today! She was ready to be done early after a rough night of sleep. After a short night and a long day we say Goodnight from Fort Stockton,TX.

“Largest Roadrunner”
The Paisano Pete is one of the most enchanting roadrunners in the world. Standing tall with a height of ten meters (3.048 feet) and with a length of 22 feet (6.7056 meters), this is structure is unarguably very popular with tourists. Come here with your family and take a snapshot with this beauty!

“A Glimpse of History”
Created by artist Brian Norwood, this group of sculptures forms a poignant sight against the azure sky. The I-10 Silhouettes can be found to the east and west of Fort Stockton on the southern side of the highway. On the west you will encounter a small group of Cormanche hunters, titled “Looking to the East”. The group leader can be seen alerting his party to the possible danger posed by the soldiers marching from the east. The second set of sculptures can be found just beyond the eastern side of city and are clearly visible beyond the old adobe hangar by the highway. Appropriately titled “Marching to Fort Stockton”, the sculptures depict members of the U.S. Cavalry marching towards the city. Both clusters are clearly visible just off the highway.
