Once fully integrated, he will be scheduled to work 8-12-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, and an 8-hour shift on Sundays. We found a fun thrift store in town, Old Bostwicks. We found things for the apartment there. The experience of exploring Old Bostwicks was truly delightful. The charming eccentricity of the store coupled with the treasure trove of unique items made it a memorable visit. We stumbled upon a variety of items that each had its own story to tell. From vintage decor to timeless furniture pieces, Old Bostwicks had it all. It was a satisfying feeling to bring home these one-of-a-kind finds and incorporate them into our living space. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to see what other hidden gems await us!

A favorite dinner spot was 10 miles south in St. Hilaire. The bar and off-site Broadway Station. I had called to see if they had breakfast service on Saturday’s. The guy told us “yes we do this week and come on down”. I was shocked to see that a bar was serving breakfast. We went in and picked out a table. We ordered our food and the pancakes were HUGE! The guy who took our order introduced himself to us. His name is Chance. He and his wife are the bar owners. He told us to come back because Saturday nights are Steak Night. He special orders steaks for those nights. This particular night he had just come back from a Ranching Fair. He sampled these exquisite steaks personally and brought some back for Steak Night. We couldn’t turn that down so back we went in the evening. Brian got a Ribeye and I picked out a New York strip. The steaks were incredible! He was so right that they were going to be the best steak ever. He marinated them in garlic and onions before putting them on the grill. We for sure will make it there again before our time at Digikey is over.

The local area seems to offer a variety of dining options, from a local grocery store called Hugo’s to the convenience of a Walmart. For those seeking a quick bite, there are a few fast food places available. Additionally, the diverse culinary scene includes a couple of Mexican restaurants and an Asian Buffet. There is no seating. It only sells by the pound for takeout. However, it seems like the search for a spot to enjoy breakfast during the weekends is still ongoing. It’s always exciting to explore new dining destinations in the neighborhood, especially when it comes to starting the day with a delicious breakfast.
As the temperatures begin to drop, the unmistakable signs of winter’s arrival gradually take hold. The air becomes crisp and chilly, and delicate snowflakes start to flutter down from the sky, creating a picturesque scene of winter’s embrace. It’s the time when cozy scarves and mittens make their appearance, and the allure of hot cocoa by the fireplace grows ever stronger. These subtle changes in the weather serve as a gentle reminder that the enchanting season of winter is just around the corner.
